The Curious

The Zvědavci children's group provides children with an ideal background for comprehensive development, where we use modern educational methods every day to engage in creative activities, polytechnic education, language skills and use proven methods such as the NTC learning system supported by Mensa Czech Republic. We use the unique environment of Techmania and Planetarium, which develops children's curiosity and technical skills. Children grow fruit and vegetables in their own garden and learn about natural processes and renewable resources. In a pleasant playroom environment with modern equipment and themed corners, children gain a foundation for future learning and personal growth.

Programme and premises

We encourage children's curiosity

The Children's Curiosity Group programme provides a broad base for general development. We use all the exhibitions, workshops for experiments with experts from Techmania and the Planetarium. For the acquisition of competences in the field of polytechnic education we visit the premises of the whole Techmania.

We guide children to acquire competences in all areas of pre-school education. During the daily activities of the children's group, they are introduced to the English language. Throughout the day we use modern methods and forms of working to acquire competencies in all areas, including the use of effective communication with the children.

Polytechnic education is developed through the use of polytechnic suitcases, which have been developed directly by Techmania experts for early years children. We do not forget about music and art activities.

For outdoor activities we use an enclosed garden of more than 500 m2 with play elements and a focus on environmental education. The children grow their own fruit, vegetables and herbs in the garden, using renewable resources.

The space for the Curious Kids group, with a capacity of 24 children, is located in the Techmania Science Center building and has a separate entrance. You will find, among other things, a 100 m2 playroom with a dining area with washable floor and a carpeted area used for play, sleeping and physical education. The playroom area has a data projector, themed play corners and furniture for storing toys.

School fees and operation

How we work

The tuition fee for the Curious Kids group for the school year 2024/2025 is 6,200 CZK (for a child over 3 years old with an overlap until 31 August after the 3rd birthday) and 4,900 CZK (for a child under 3 years old with an overlap until 31 August after the 3rd birthday)

We accept children from 2 years of age until the start of compulsory schooling.

Meals are paid separately and are set at 100 CZK/day for the school year 2024/2025.

The opening hours of the children's group are 7:00-17:00.

    • arrival of children 7:00-8:00
    • children leave after lunch 12:00-12:15
    • afternoon pick-up 14:30-17:00

Children's Group will close on the following dates in the 2024/2025 school year:

28.10. / 23. - 31. 12. / 1. 1. / 18. - 21.4. / 1. - 2. 5. / 8. - 9. 5. / 25. - 29.8.

Information on enrolment

Sign your child up for the Curious Kids group

If we have spaces available, we accept children throughout the year. To check availability, contact the Curious Kids Group leader.

Priority is given to children with regular attendance (Mon-Fri, at least 6 hours per day).

Admission criteria:

    • Age of the child at the start of attendance at DS at least 2 years.
    • At least one of the parents is economically active (employed, self-employed, student, registered at the employment office, etc.)
    • Vaccination of the child according to the valid vaccination calendar

Confirmation of acceptance or rejection of the application will be sent to you by e-mail. If you do not receive any email, please contact the DS manager.
