Visiting rules

Introduction:

  1. By purchasing a ticket to the Techmania Science Center o. p. s., ID: 263 966 45, located at U Planetária 2969/1, 301 00 Plzeň (hereinafter referred to as "TSC"), the visitor submits to the provisions of these Visitor Regulations, is obliged to comply with them and follow the instructions of the TSC staff.
  2. These Visitor Regulations apply to the premises of the Science Centre and the Planetarium, or to the outdoor areas belonging to the TSC.

opening hours, tickets:

  1. Information about opening hours is posted at the entrance door, at the reception desk and on the techmania.com website. Any change in opening hours is subject to change and announced on the above mentioned website and on the entrance doors of the TSC buildings.
  2. The current admission price list is published at the entrance door, at the reception and on the techmania.cz website.
  3. Tickets can be purchased online at https://eshop.techmania.cz or in person at the TSC reception. The season ticket scheme is described on that website.
  4. Voucher holders can redeem the voucher at the TSC reception and exchange it for a ticket or redeem the voucher at https://eshop.techmania.cz where they can purchase a ticket by entering the unique code shown on the back of the voucher.
  5. Access to the premises is only possible with a valid ticket.
  6. The TSC reserves the right to discontinue ticket sales due to visitor overcapacity at all TSC venues.
  7. On busy days, it is possible to make a reservation (for a fee) at the TSC front desk or online via techmania.com for admission to the planetarium film screenings.
  8. The TSC reserves the right to cancel a film screening if no tickets are purchased 15 minutes before the film starts.
  9. In case of a request to show the film in a foreign language version, this must be reported to the TSC reception at least 30 minutes before the start of the film. A fee must be paid to use headphones to listen to a foreign language film.
  10. The TSC is entitled to temporarily remove from operation (use) without compensation exhibits, parts of exhibits, and exceptionally entire exhibits that are damaged, under repair, revision, in preparation, reconstruction or upgrade. Such decommissioning shall be appropriately marked and visitors shall not be allowed to handle or enter such exhibits.

entry to the premises:

  1. Entry to and stay in TSC facilities is subject to compliance with the laws and internal regulations of the operator - primarily the Visitor's Regulations and the operating rules of each room. These documents are available at the TSC reception and on the TSC website.
  2. Children under the age of 15 are only allowed to enter the premises when accompanied by a person over the age of 18, who is responsible for the child at all times (staff do not assume this responsibility).
  3. Some exhibitions may have age, weight or height restrictions for entry, which are indicated before entering the exhibition.
  4. No bicycles, scooters, rollerblades, skateboards or other similar means of transportation are allowed inside the TSC. This prohibition also applies to their use in the indoor areas.
  5. Pets are not allowed in the TSC, except for assistance dogs.
  6. Smoking (including the use of electronic cigarettes) and handling open flames are prohibited on TSC premises.
  7. Alcohol, drugs, toxic and narcotic substances, weapons, explosives, and other dangerous items that could cause damage to the health or property of the TSC or persons present in the TSC are prohibited from being brought into the TSC buildings. The safety of individual items is at the discretion of the TSC staff member.
  8. TSC staff shall have the right to refuse entry to persons whose visit could reasonably be expected to disturb public order, safety, endanger the health of persons, the property of the TSC or persons present, the cleanliness of the premises or good morals. Such a person, as well as a person who grossly violates the provisions of these Visitor Regulations, may also be expelled from the premises of the TSC without refund of the admission fee. Persons suspected of being intoxicated, under the influence of narcotics, or in heavily soiled clothing, smelly, or of antisocial behavior may also be ejected for the reasons stated in the preceding sentences.
  9. In the premises of the laboratories, clubrooms, workshops, as well as in the Science on a Sphere projection hall and the planetarium projection hall, the visitor is obliged to behave according to the operating rules of these rooms in addition to the above.
  10. Visitors must pay special attention when walking on the stair arms (stairs). It is forbidden to run, jump, use the telephone and other display devices and to the maximum extent possible to use the handrails installed to increase the safety of movement.
  11. Dogs are not allowed on the premises except for assistance dogs.

storage of belongings, lost and found

  1. Visitors enter the TSC exhibition without bulky luggage. They may use the cloakroom, lockers and locked cages (for group visits) in the lobby to store their luggage and clothing. The TSC is not responsible for items left outside the baggage and clothing storage areas.
  2. In case of loss of the key to the box or cage, the TSC reception will issue a replacement key on the basis of identification of the contents of the box before opening it, drawing up a report on the opening of the box and payment of a fee of CZK 100 as compensation for the necessary replacement of the lock.
  3. Lost and found items are handled by the TSC reception.

responsibility for damages and safety:

  1. Visitors are to handle exhibits in the standard manner according to the description on the exhibit (if applicable), with which they are required to familiarize themselves. Visitors are required to respect the instructions of TSC staff when handling exhibits.
  2. Visitors shall not intentionally damage exhibits and shall always exercise caution and, in particular, respect for other visitors when experimenting.
  3. Any visitor who causes any damage to the TSC through his/her own fault is obliged to compensate for it according to generally applicable law. In the case of group visits, the responsible teaching staff member is responsible for the school group; in the case of organised groups, the group leader or guide is responsible.
  4. TSC is not liable for damages caused by the irresponsible attitude of other persons present or by its own actions in violation of these visiting regulations, the law or common sense.
  5. Liability for damages incurred by TSC visitors during a visit to the Science Center or Planetarium proven to be the fault of TSC employees or other circumstances directly related to the TSC visit shall be governed by generally applicable law.
  6. It is prohibited:
    • Entering areas not open to the public,
    • tampering with items not intended for use,
    • throw any objects from staircases or other elevated areas,
    • interfering with electrical wiring, plumbing and other distribution systems (electrical equipment cabinets, main switches, main water shut-offs, etc.),
    • misuse fire protection equipment and fire safety equipment,
    • running around in the exhibition, placing objects on exhibits and consuming food and drink.
  7. Visitors are obliged to avoid the danger of falling, falling over or falling from height at higher structures, guard rails and chains and similar places. In particular, children must not be allowed to climb such structures.
  8. Visitors are obliged to report any findings immediately to a TSC staff member:
    • a defect endangering the safety of persons or a defect threatening damage to property,
    • injury to any person,
    • an accident (a report shall be made to the TSC reception).

emergency SITUATIONS:

  1. Crisis situations are declared by audible signal and announcement.
  2. In the event of an evacuation, every person present in the TSC facility at the time is required to follow the evacuation procedure.
  3. In the event of a fire, immediately leave the exhibit area by the nearest marked exit (see evacuation plan). It is necessary to follow the instructions of TSC staff, members of the fire patrol or members of the intervening integrated rescue system. The fire alarm room is located in the reception area.
  4. In the event of an emergency, there is no refund of the entrance fee. In the event of a short-term crisis situation, the visitor is allowed to complete the visit after the end of the crisis situation.

Photography, VIDEO NOTES AND INTERNAL CAMERA SYSTEM

  1. Photography and videotaping are permitted in the Science Center and Planetarium exhibits.
    Photography and videotaping are not permitted in the planetarium projection room and 3D Cinema.
  2. Any video or audio recordings made in the TSC or Planetarium areas may not be used for commercial purposes.
  3. Unauthorized use, transmission or reproduction of the TSC logo or trademark is prohibited.
  4. Any person entering the TSC premises acknowledges by his/her entry that the TSC premises, including the outdoor areas, are monitored by cameras and that recording is made for the purpose of protecting the property, health and life of persons, as well as for the purpose of fulfilling legal obligations (e.g. reporting suspected violations). In the event that the personal data of a visitor is obtained in the form of a camera recording, the data subject is informed about the use of the camera system by means of a visible pictogram placed in the areas affected by the camera system.
  5. In some cases, photographs and video recordings are taken in the premises of the TSC and the Planetarium of exhibitions without the possibility of facial recognition - e.g. persons testing an exhibit, a programme in the show area, etc. The purpose of such photographs or video recordings is to highlight a new exhibit, exhibition or show and to publish such photographs or video recordings on techmania.cz, Techmania Plzeň FB page and Techmania Instagram for marketing purposes.
  6. In the event that there is an interest in the visitor's face being captured, then a written informed consent is entered into with such person, which also includes the manner of publication of the photographs taken.

refreshment ZONE:

  1. The refreshment area is located on the first floor of the Science Center. The restaurant and its operations are open only during the opening hours of the science center.
  2. In the adjacent refreshment area, purchased and self-purchased food and drink is allowed.

Parking:

  1. Visitors and guests of the TSC are permitted to park cars and motorcycles in designated parking areas.
  2. Special parking spaces are reserved for buses, and a designated area along the Planetarium and a portion of the Terrace parking lot are used for drop-off and pick-up of people. The circulation area is located behind the TSC building.
  3. The parking lot is monitored by cameras. The parking lot is not guarded.
  4. Parking is charged according to the price list. The parking fee can be paid at the TSC front desk or at the automated ticket office by the parking lot.

final arrangements:

  1. Visitors may list wishes, compliments, suggestions and comments in the Wish Book or Satisfaction Questionnaire, both located at the front desk.
  2. The visitor has the right to complain about the services offered by TSC at the reception desk.
  3. In the event that these rules are not followed, TSC staff have the right to take the necessary steps to ensure the safety, smooth operation and protection of property within the Science Centre and its surrounding grounds.
  4. Visitors are asked to observe all notices, operating instructions, orders, and common courtesy in the interest of their own safety and the safety of others.
  5. Should these rules not be followed, TSC staff have the right to take necessary action to ensure the safety, continuity of traffic and protection of property inside the science center and on its surrounding property.
  6. Situations and circumstances not covered by these Visitor Regulations shall be governed by generally binding legislation.

In the event that these rules are not complied with, the staff of the Techmania Science Center has the right to take the necessary steps to ensure safety, smooth operation and protection of property inside the Science Center and on its surrounding property.
