Techmania Science Center Personal Data Processing Policy

In our company, we pay great attention to the protection of personal data. Therefore, we have compiled this policy, which is effective as of 25 May 2018 and is issued in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulation" or "GDPR").

This policy has been prepared to inform you about what personal data we process, for what purposes we use it, how long we keep it, how we protect it and what rights you have in relation to its processing. This policy applies primarily to the processing of personal data of customers of Techmania Science Center ("TSC") and, as appropriate, their representatives or contact persons, as well as visitors to the websites operated by TSC.

1. Who processes your data?

We are Techmania Science Center o.p.s., ID No.: 26396645, with registered office at U Planetária 2969/1, 301 00 Plzeň, registered in the Register of Public Benefit Corporations maintained by the Regional Court in Plzeň, Section O, Insert 89, and as the controller we process your personal data according to the terms and conditions set out below.

2. What personal data do we process and why?

The main reason why we process your personal data is to provide you with the servicesyou have expressed interest in, including the administration and execution of any payments, as well as the recognition of visitor behaviour, new trends, so that we can adapt and improve the quality of our services.

We only process personal data that you provide to us in connection with the use of our services (e.g. in the context of user registration on our website, in the context of orders for some of our products or services) or on the basis of a contract or consent granted by you.

3. How long do we process your data?

We process your personal data only to the extent necessary and keep it for the time necessary to ensure all rights and obligations under the contract, i.e. At a minimum, for as long as it is necessary to ensure the execution of your order, and for as long as TSC is obliged as a controller to keep it under generally binding legal regulations or for which you have given us your consent to process it. In other cases, the processing period results from the purpose of the processing or is determined by data protection legislation.

We process personal data in accordance with the purpose of processing for the period of time indicated:

Performance of a contractual relationship - 5 years

  1. Product/service reservation in the reservation system - until revocation
  2. Accounting and tax purposes - 5 years from the next calendar year after the provision of the service
  3. Acquisition and delivery of prizes in consumer competitions - 2 weeks
  4. Management of user accounts for services - until cancellation of the user account

  1. Enhancing the security of service provision - permanently
  2. Improvement of the quality of services provided and development of new services - 5 years
  3. Ensuring protection of health and property - 3 days
  4. Fulfilling other legal obligations - indefinitely
  5. Carrying out measurement analysis of visitor behaviour - permanently

4. Who all will have access to your data?

Within TSC, personal data of data subjects is only made available to authorised TSC employees or employees of processors, in the performance of their tasks and duties, only to the extent necessary for the purposes of processing. These persons are obliged to maintain the confidentiality of the personal data with which they are acquainted.

TSC is entitled to disclose personal data to third parties if this is necessary for the purpose of processing your requests. These are the following categories of recipients:

  • The processors of our booking pages (Softech, s.r.o., with registered office at Denisovo nábřeží 6, 301 00 Plzeň, ID: 45330018; Perfect System, s.r.o.; System Colosseum - Plzeňská vstupenka, Denisovo nábřeží 920/12, 301 00 Plzeň, ID: 252 20 683)
  • persons who deliver our titles, prizes or gifts to you as part of marketing events (Medea PR, s.r.o., Mikuleckého 1311/8, 147 00 Prague 4, ID No.: 251 30 013)
  • payment gateway providers (UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s., with registered office in Prague 4 - Michle, Želetavská 1525/1, Postal Code 140 92, ID No. 64948242),
  • providers of analytical tools (Google Analytics, Google Adwords).

Under certain, precisely defined conditions, we are then obliged to transfer some of your personal data to the Police of the Czech Republic, e.g. to other law enforcement authorities, including specialized departments (ÚOOZ, Customs Administration, etc.) and other public administration authorities.

Why do we use cookies?

Our cookies improve access to our site and identify repeat visits. In addition, our cookies enhance the user experience by tracking and targeting the user's interests. However, the use of cookies is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.

  • the provision of a service or product (performance of a contract concluded between you and us, whereby the contract includes the actual use of a service without the need to sign anything),
  • to comply with legal obligations imposed on us by generally binding legislation (e.g. we are obliged to store traffic and location data on the basis of Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on electronic communications),
  • processing that is necessary for the purposes of our legitimate interests (e.g. for direct marketing or to ensure the security of our websites).

The possibility and lawfulness of such processing derives directly from applicable law and your consent to such processing is not required.

7. Am I obliged to provide my personal data? What if I do not provide my personal data?

You provide us with your personal data voluntarily (however, for some services, the transfer of certain personal data is required to access the service, i.e. if you do not provide it to us, you will not be able to use the service).

8. How is your data secured?

Personal data is processed by TSC's own employees (in a non-automated electronic way) and is stored in files that are stored on the servers mentioned above. Access to this data is protected by a system of access accounts, passwords and rights set to the extent necessary for the performance of the tasks of individual TSC employees. The data stored in the files are further protected by antivirus protection and a system of backups.

However, without your help and responsible behavior, we are unable to fully ensure the security of your data. Therefore, please help us ensure the security of your data by keeping your unique passwords and other access details to our services confidential and by following our basic security policy(https://www.jaknainternet.cz/). Please always keep in mind that emails, instant chat messages, blogs and other types of communication with other website users are not encrypted. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you do not use these forms of communication when providing confidential information.

9. What rights do you have in relation to data protection?

In particular, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • The right to withdraw your consent at any time,
  • the right to correct or complete your personal data,
  • the right to request restriction of processing,
  • the right to request data portability,
  • the right of access to personal data,
  • the right to be informed of a personal data breach in certain cases,
  • the right to erasure of personal data (right to be forgotten) in certain cases
  • the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority ,

and other rights set out in the Data Protection Act and Article 13 et seq. of the GDPR once it comes into force.

10. What should I do if I want to know information regarding the processing of my personal data by TSC or do not want you to continue processing my personal data?

If you have any questions about your personal data, exercise your rights under point 9 of this policy or withdraw your consent to further processing of your personal data, please send an email to: info@techmania.cz or a letter to Techmania Science Center o. p. s., U Planetária 2969/1, 301 00 Plzeň.

In this context, we would like to inform you that you may be asked to prove your identity so that we can verify your identity. This is a precautionary security measure to prevent unauthorised persons from accessing your personal data.
