Science On a Sphere

Imagine a two-meter globe that is almost floating in space and you, by just using a touch, can control it, change it and project short films depicting transformations of the Earth through time on it, observe raging tornadoes, watch earthquakes or find out what can happen to a shoe that falls into the ocean...

The technology behind Science on a Sphere is unique: there are just over one hundred similar exhibits throughout the world. It is based on showing projections on a 1.7-meter diameter spherical surface and uses data from the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA for short. Thanks to this, tailor-made programs that fit into school curricula are formed. The hall’s capacity is 40 seats.

If no show (in Czech only) is taking place in the Science on a Sphere auditorium, you can run any short film or animation yourself.
